However, his win looks like a slim one so far over his next-closest competitor.

WWE superstar and Devil's Favourite Demon Kane also known as Jacobs has won the mayoral seat of Knox County, Tennessee, US. A report by TMB was used for information in this article. "That's why people voted for him, '" Jacobs, 51, told Knox News.

Anders and a third GOP primary candidate, Bob Thomas, were favored over Jacobs, both having served as Knox County commissioners. The announcement has not yet been made official but the results that were published yesterday give the victory to Jacobs. It was the only set of election results for Knox County in which there was not an official victor named. Knox County's current mayor, Tim Burchett, is a Republican and the area has gone to the Republican Party candidate in every presidential election since 1944. "I'm confident that come tomorrow afternoon, I'll be declared the victor of the GOP", said Jacobs.

Last year Kane announced his intentions to run for this office when he was still making appearances for WWE.

He isn't the only wrestling star to make headway in politics. Ultimately, Matt Hardy won the competition, though. It was in May of 2016 that Jacobs started to seriously consider running for mayor of Knox County; which is just a few miles north of Knoxville.

A victory that narrow is nearly certain to trigger a recount, but Jacobs says he's already focused on the general election, which is set for August 2. That election will take place on August 2nd.
