Bayern Munich playmaker James Rodriguez, who is on loan at the German club from Real Madrid, has revealed where he would like to play his football after his current deal with the Bundesliga giants expires.

"We're very pleased that Franck is staying with us", said sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic after the signing of the deal. "Franck has shown this season once again in the Bundesliga, Champions League and DFB Pokal his great quality and the outstanding performances he is capable of".

He has scored 117 goals in 385 appearances and won the Bundesliga eight times with Bayern since joining them in 2007 from Marseille.

"He is also one of our crowd-pleasers".

Ribery added: "I am very happy to have another year for this big club to play. I had other ideas when I came here", James told Kicker.

"But what I found above all that success is a place called home".

Bayern are said to want to give priority to rising stars Serge Gnabry, 22, who will return from a loan spell at Hoffenheim, and Kingsley Coman, 21, who is now sidelined by injury.

The 35-year-old French winger put pen to paper on a contract extension with Bayern Munich on Monday, keeping him at the club through the 2018-19 campaign.
