After shocking the world and taking Baker Mayfield with the first overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Mayfield is going to be analyzed like insane and every mistake magnified times 10.

"It doesn't matter how you get there, everyone here has the same opportunity", he said. This was made clear with team trading for a player in Taylor who is in the final year in his deal that has essentially made him a bridge quarterback to whoever the Browns had taken at the first overall pick. He too has had an exciting week and is happy to finally have the draft process behind him and is ready to start playing football. "Hopefully, I'll get a chance to go watch him play, but right now, my focus is on football".

This year's quarterback class was loaded with big names and promising talent, with Mayfield being one of the most intriguing storylines.

Oklahoma Sooners quarterback Baker Mayfield (6) drops back to pass the ball in the first half of the game against the Ohio State Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium.

"It's the most unbelievable thing I've ever seen", Jackson said. "He's the last one to leave, and I can only aspire to be like that".

Mayfield's stock improved dramatically leading up to the draft.

Mayfield will start out behind quarterback Tyrod Taylor, Dorsey and Jackson said. "It is about being a good football player".

Mayfield knows why Taylor has the backing of Jackson and noted that his goal is to make similarly favorable impressions with his new teammates. The guys who have been doing it for a while, I have to earn their respect. Many Browns fans are skeptical for this reason. So I'm going to listen to him, but I've got to go compete, and first and foremost, I've got to go learn my job."That includes learning to operate under center, which he rarely did at Oklahoma."A lot of basic mistakes (my first practice) that I don't usually make", he said".

"The one thing I keep hearing about is the loyalty of the fans, and I think the one thing they deserve is a team that's winning, one they can rally behind", Mayfield said.
