California building explosion is being investigated as intentional

Multiple local media outlets have cited unnamed sources claiming that Tuesday afternoon's explosion - which left one woman dead and three others injured - was intentional and originated from an explosive device delivered to the building. The cause of the blast is being investigated.

A USA official briefed on the investigation, speaking on condition of not being identified by name, told The Associated Press the explosion is being investigated as intentional and investigators believe the blast may have come from a package.

No children were hurt, officials said.

The explosion Tuesday badly damaged a two-story building in the city of Aliso Viejo and injured three other people, including two who remain hospitalized. Some witnesses said they initially thought it was an natural disaster but soon realized it was some type of explosion as smoke filled the area. A motive had not yet been determined and no arrests had yet been made in connection with the explosion.

The explosion occurred Tuesday in Aliso Viejo, about 50 miles (80.5 kilometers) south of Los Angeles.

She said the family is cooperating with investigators.

Attorney Andrew Bisom, who represented Krajnyak and Ronilo Vestil during the Chapter 13 bankruptcy proceedings, said they were far along on their mandated payment plan but hadn't completed it. The neighbor said Krajnyak and her husband were separated but still living in the same house.

"We have not found any type of specific device inside of the building right now that would tell us or lead us to exactly what the device was, if there was a device", said Commander Dave Sawyer of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

This decision contravenes worldwide law and in particular the UN Security Council and General Assembly resolutions. The latest casualties raised the Palestinian death toll to 73 since the protests started six weeks ago.

The sheriff's department has stressed that the investigation remains at an early stage. The premises of the facility was swept after the explosion to ensure there were no devices that could cause a secondary explosion.

Her Orange County business offered services such as facials, waxing and wrinkle treatments.

The items were sent back to the Federal Bureau of Investigation laboratory in Quantico, Virginia, for testing, and police would not comment on the specifics of what they found.

The Tuesday afternoon blast on the first floor of an Aliso Viejo building in Orange County shattered windows and forced children in a nearby daycare center to be evacuated.

A federal official told The Associated Press late Tuesday that the explosion is believed to have been intentional and may have come from a package. A third woman suffered smoke inhalation and was treated and released at the scene.

Fennessy says the blast involved a building under renovation.

"When I was playing outside I heard the big crash, I thought it was a garbage truck but it was a building that smashed", 6-year-old Kingston Dik told KNBC-TV.
