Deadline has reported that Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman) has joined Dwayne Johnson (Rampage, Skyscraper) in the action-comedy Red Notice. Universal Pictures won the rights to the project after a high profile bidding war for the film that included major players like Warner Bros., Paramount, Sony, and even Netflix.

Red Notice is written and will be directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber.

The film tells the story of an Interpol agent - played by Johnson - who is tracking down an global art thief. They've locked in one main co-star for Johnson, as his former Fast & Furious franchise colleague Gal Gadot has landed a role.

Kim summit 'may not have happened without Otto Warmbier'
Trump said Kim informed him of this development during the historic nuclear summit they held Tuesday in Singapore. I told this to his parents: A special young man, and I have to say: Special parents, special people.

Multiple news outlets have speculated that Gadot may also star in the upcoming film. It's reportedly a three-hander between Johnson, Gadot, and another male star that will soon be set, and Gadot will be playing "a brilliant and mysterious figure in the art world".

Red Notice will begin shooting April 2019 in Europe and Universal will release the film worldwide June 12, 2020.

Since breaking out as the titular superhero in last summer's Wonder Woman, Gadot hasn't had the time to venture away from the DC Cinematic Universe, subsequently filming Justice League and next year's Wonder Woman 2. His background is in comedies like Dodgeball and We're the Millers, but with Skyscraper and now Red Notice-both of which he's writing himself-Thurber is carving out his own, original blockbusters.
