It sounds like the Nintendo Switch version of Starlink: Battle for Atlas is in safe hands, with the news Ubisoft Toronto and Virtuos "collaborated closely" for this particular release of the game. That game was also represented at E3 2018, with Ubisoft focusing on the upcoming Donkey Kong DLC that it on the way for it. It's a welcome release though with those who remember old and recent Star Fox games recently able to play as the space-faring pilot once again in a totally new experience.

Even if we didn't spoil the surprise in the title, it's probably clear which Nintendo character fits best within an adventure game set in space. Sorry Xbox One and PS4 owners, but Fox McCloud will (obviously) be a Nintendo Switch exclusive.

Starlink Battle for Atlas was officially announced during E3 2017. How it all works is described in the trailer you see below.

Players will control their own custom space pirate, tasked with navigating from planet to planet doing general piratey things. More information will be revealed later this year at an event called "BG Fest".

Starlink: Battle for Atlas comes to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on October 16.

Similar to Nintendo's Amiibo toy line, which brings physical toys into the virtual world within compatible video games, Starlink will allow players to collect and build toy starships, which will "instantly come to life on your screen", according to Ubisoft.
