Uruguay Stars Want Mohamed Salah Fit For The Opener Vs Egypt

Egyptians hoping to watch the World Cup for free have been offered a chink of light after the country's competition authority said it was obliging Federation Internationale de Football Association to let state TV show games.

The Pharaohs will face Uruguay in their opening match, which will be played on Friday, 15th of June.

The stance of the Egyptian team remains that Salah will not be risked unless his is fully fit, with the team prepared to wait until the last moment to decide whether he should feature.

Salah jogged for about 30 minutes on Monday as his teammates trained on the same pitch in Grozny for the match in Ekaterinburg.

"The treatment program is going well and the player's stance will be determined shortly before the Uruguay match".

Nonetheless, in an interview Egypt's managing director Ehab Lehita admitted that while Salah is making good progress, he can not confirm whether or not he will be fit to play by the time the game kicks off.
