Microsoft exits support forums

If an issue was big and widespread enough, one would expect Microsoft users to create threads, and Microsoft support staff to chime in with technical support and fixes to bugs. Microsft is discontinuing support for Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 8.1 RT (so, Windows RT in general), among others. The quality of Microsoft Agent support is not always the best, however, as you will get copy and paste responses often at first.

Zune - this topic will be locked. Staff will still moderate the forums, and community members are asked to continue to participate in topics that remain open.

While you won't get technical support from the company on your queries on the forum topics for products that have reached the end of support, Microsoft is still required to send security updates to Windows 7 under the extended support period.

Justify: Racing's $75-Million Horse?
Earlier, Baffert and jockey Mike Smith teamed to win the $750,000 Ogden Phipps with Abel Tasman. The race was won by a half-length, with Justify finishing the 1 3/16-mile race in 1:55.93.

Over the weekend, Microsoft announced that starting on July 1st 2018 they are no longer offering support for Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and a wide variety of older applications in the Microsoft Community forums.

"There will be no proactive reviews, monitoring, answering or answer marking of questions", Microsoft said in announcing the move. Support for the following products is being discontinued across various forums in the Microsoft Answers community. Windows 7 exited mainstream support in 2015, Windows 8.1 in January 2018. The news is rough for those with older products but it hints that Microsoft is obviously positioning its staff for only supporting newer devices and products moving forward.
