Assistant coach Nick Nurse agreed in principle to become head coach of the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday, multiple outlets have reported. According to Woj, the two sides are still working out the specific details of the contract.

Nurse, a long-time assistant under Casey, was one of the first people interviewed by president Masai Ujiri and general manager Bobby Webster and was the leading candidate throughout much of the hiring process.

Nurse came to Toronto fresh off of a NBA Development League championship with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers and also won a league championship with Iowa, a D-League coach of the year award and worked extensively in Britain.

Nurse coached in Europe for 11 years starting in 1996.
