The Florida native has been making waves in the music industry for years but went mainstream in 2017 when he released his debut album 17, which debuted at number two in the US Billboard 200.

The rapper was shot and killed Monday.

Sources close to the rapper have told various publications that he has been critically wounded.

Police in Broward County said XXXTentacion was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. The incident is a possible drive-by shooting, as the gunman reportedly fled in a black Dodge Journey.
