Nokia 5.1 Plus prepped for July 11 launch

The Finnish mobile phone company, HMD Global Oy, will introduce the Nokia X6 in Hong Kong on July 9th, as reported by Mobile Magazine Hong Kong.

Images of the smartphone has been leaked on various occasions, with its possible design revealed. Nokia X5 with 32GB storage is said to be priced at 799 CNY (Rs 8,300 approximately).

It looks like another notched display device will be added to the Nokia lineup, only a couple months after the release of the company's first notched handset, the Nokia X6.

As per a post on Nokia's official Weibo account on Monday, a new Nokia X-Series phone is all set to become a reality in China come July 11.

The alleged pricing of the phone was leaked on Baidu. Nokia X5 will be launched globally as Nokia 5.1 Plus later just like Nokia X6 that will be launched globally as Nokia 6.1 Plus. The SD710 phone might be the successor of the Nokia 7 plus and will be unveiled either in Autumn or Winter. The report said it might be announced at the end of September. Notably, the 5.1 Plus was expected to be the second smartphone from the brand to come with a notch display.

The Nokia X5 promotional posters have popped up in several retail stores (similar to the one below) in China, confirming it will break covers on July 11. The IPS display has a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio, along with a protective layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone is powered by a 2GHz octa-core processor. The memory can be further expanded up to 128GB via micro SD card slot. A 8-megapixel selfie sensor might adorn the front of the smartphone.

The dual-camera setup at the back is expected to feature a combination of 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. Along with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities, connectivity options include a micro-USB port, and 4G VoLTE support.
