Rep. Lois Frankel (D-FL) on Wednesday brought a coat hanger to a briefing to protest Judge Brett Kavanaugh, President Donald Trump's latest Supreme Court pick who has ruled against abortion rights for women.

During the 2016 campaign, Trump pledged to consider only Supreme Court nominees who were against abortion rights, while Pence has said that he longs for the day when Roe v. Wade "is sent to the ash heap of history". Kavanaugh's position on Roe v. Wade is not as easily defined as it is for others who were on Trump's SCOTUS short list.

Vanderbilt Law professor Brian Fitzpatrick doesn't adhere to that thinking. "Alaska Right to Life wants to make sure and urge both Senators Murkowski and Sullivan to confirm a justice that recognizes the personhood of the child in the womb".

"What we really focused on was the character, the background, the credentials and the judicial philosophy" of the nominee, he said. Cleveland served almost 25 years as a permanent law clerk to a federal appellate judge and is a former full-time faculty member and current adjunct instructor at the college of business at the University of Notre Dame.

"We don't have a real good sense of what to expect from him as a Supreme Court justice, so we're cautious there", said outreach director Patrick Martin.

He was that bad and confirmed the doubts so many of us had expressed about him prior to that woeful performance. Now, this is a massive day for the English team, it's their first World Cup semi-final in 28 years.

Pence said that Kavanaugh had 12 opinions that were later adopted by the Supreme Court, and rebuffed Schumer and his Empire State colleague Sen.

"They are a conservative institution, not only politically, but institutionally. They don't want the court to have any repute placed upon it by the American people, that would be the result, and they know that, so they are going to play things close to the vest, they are not going to overrule these iconic decisions".

"If confirmed to the DC circuit, I would follow Roe v. Wade faithfully and fully".

In a separate interview on Fox News Channel, Pence said the White House was "very encouraged at the early response" to Kavanaugh and has "every confidence" that he will be confirmed.
