Speaking with 7News on Tuesday, Zarutskie showed the wrist injury she suffered when a nurse shark bit down on it earlier this summer.

Zarutskie told NBC that she was pulled under briefly when the reportedly five-foot shark made a decision to take a chomp on her arm then she "ripped [her] wrist out of the shark's mouth as fast as I could".

A 19-year-old college student and Instagram model was posing for a bird's-eye water photo in the Bahamas when a shark bit her on the wrist, BuzzFeed News reports. Her boyfriend's father took several photos throughout the attack, capturing the exact moment that Zarutskie came in contact with the 5-foot-long shark.

The University of Miami nursing student and aspiring model went into shark-infested waters willingly during her trip to the Bahamas with her boyfriend and his family.

Katarina made a decision to swim with a herd of nurse sharks at Staniel Cay - but things went wrong when a 5-foot nurse shark bit her arm and started to drag her under the water.

Pranked Sarah Palin Rips Sacha Baron Cohen for Mocking Vets
On Monday it was revealed that Baron Cohen had spent a year undercover filming a new project for the Showtime channel. She goes on to slam Cohen for mocking politicians and innocent personalities and called his actions "truly sick".

But there were warning signs around the picturesque spot where the shark attack took place. She jumped into the water on her own, without any sort of tour guide. But after doing some research and learning of the high risk of infection following a shark bite, Zarutskie made a decision to fly back to Florida the next day for further treatment. "It was an accident and he probably thought I was food, and I am very lucky that I was able to rip my arm away from him", Katarina said. She said she later learned that the risk of infection meant she could have lost her arm or her life.

Zarutskie did not immediately respond to a request for comment. While feeding a small group, Melissa Brunning was dragged into the water by her finger before breaking free.

Zarutskie hopes her modeling career will continue and she has not ruled out posing with sharks again.

"It happened so quickly", Brunning told 7 News. I don't know where to look.
