Armless Miami man charged with stabbing Chicago tourist

A homeless artist who does not have arms stabbed a tourist by grabbing a pair of scissors with his feet, police say.

Florida native Jonathan Crenshaw stabbed a 22-year-old Chicago man twice with the scissors before running away, according to the Miami Beach Police Department report on Crenshaw's arrest early on Tuesday.

According to an arrest report, officers arrived at the scene to find a man lying on the ground and bleeding from his left arm.

Krenshaw has claimed that he defended himself after Cesar Coronado, 22, punched him in the head, but has now been charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

Crenshaw was booked on a charge of aggravated battery.

Police said the victim's friend told officers that the victim was asking Jonathan Dale Crenshaw, 45, for directions when Crenshaw pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim.

He's often found along Lincoln Road, creating colorful art with his feet while passersby marvel at his ability.

Coronado was taken to the hospital and treated for injuries.

Crenshaw, who told police he acted in self-defense, was being held at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center in Miami.

It's believed he was born in Alabama, but it's not known whether he was born without arms or lost them later in life.
