Newcastle have completed the signing of Kenedy on a season-long loan from Chelsea.

The Brazilian scored two goals in 13 appearances to help Rafa Benitez's side retain their place in the Premier League.

Kenedy name-checked Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez as he spoke to the club's media team after moving back to Tyneside.

Reacting to his recent move, Kennedy said that: "I am so happy with this interest from Rafa Benitez, that he came back for me".

Kenedy, who has joined up with the rest of the squad at the pre-season training camp in Ireland, too was happy to return after striking up an instant rapport with fans who appreciated the way he has played his football to date in a black and white shirt.

Is Maurizio Sarri finally set to replace Antonio Conte at Chelsea?
Despite winning the Premier League and FA Cup during his spell, he has paid the price for his hard relationship with the club's board.

The Brazilian was a popular figure at St James' Park, with many fans urging the club to re-sign the player this summer.

US worldwide Yedlin described Kenedy as an "unbelievable player" and that it was great to have the Chelsea flyer back at Newcastle, with the player already in Ireland with the rest of the squad at the club's training camp.

'Hopefully he can keep playing at the same level that he reached with us last season. "I wish him all the best for his time here".

The former Brazil under-23 attacker becomes Benitez's third signing of the summer following on from the free transfer addition of South Korea captain Ki Sung-yueng and the permanent deal for keeper Martin Dubravka.
