Congratulations and gratitude came in from across the world after it was reported that all 12 boys and their 25-year-old football coach were safe after being rescued from the Tham Luang cave complex, where they had gotten trapped inside on June 23.

All 12 boys and their football coach have been rescued from a Thai cave after an 18-day ordeal, the Thai Navy Seals said in a Facebook post.

"Everyone is in high spirits and are happy to get out", Jesada added. Social media has been abuzz for days with chatter about the inevitable "Thailand Cave Rescue: The Movie".

It has emerged the rescued boys are being held in confinement over fears they have cave disease, which is caused by breathing in fungus from bat and bird droppings. They are still being quarantined from their parents because of the risk of infection and would likely be kept in hospital for a week to undergo tests, officials said.

One of the boys from the last group rescued Tuesday had a lung infection, a health official said. All 12 boys and their coach were rescued as part of multi-hour missions, with the final group of boys emerging from the cave on July 10.

"The kids are footballers so they have high immune systems", Jedsada Chokdumrongsuk, permanent secretary at the Public Health Ministry, told a news conference.

"Water levels are the same like the last two days", he said, adding that rescue efforts were expected to faster than they had been before.

Each of the boys, ages 11 to 16 and with no diving experience, was guided out by a pair of divers though rocky, muddy and water passages that in places were just a crawl space.

The worldwide bid to extract the team garnered attention from around the world after the team found themselves trapped on June 23 when they entered the cave after practice and were blocked by floodwaters.

"It is with great sadness that I confirm that Harry's dad passed away last night a short time after the successful rescue operation in Thailand", said Andrew Pearce, head of clinical services at SAAS MedSTAR, where Harris works.

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha was scheduled to make a second visit to the scene late on Monday and the president of soccer's governing body, FIFA, Gianni Infantino, today invited the boys to the World Cup final in Moscow on Sunday if they make it out of the cave in time.
