The mystery was resolved Tuesday when the official news agency KCNA put out no fewer than four reports on his trip to far-flung Samjiyon county, on the border with China, majority far more detailed than its usual accounts of his "field guidance" visits.

But Trump tweeted Monday that he has "confidence" that Kim would honour the denuclearisation "contract" they signed at the summit and accused China - the isolated North's powerful neighbour and ally - of seeking to undermine the deal.

"I have it for him".

South Korea is also trying to engage the North economically, and as part of its efforts will be sending Song Young-gil, the head of an inter-Korea economic cooperation committee to the North Korean city of Rason, Yonhap reported Wednesday.

The remains of almost 8,000 USA troops remain unaccounted for on the Korean peninsula, and 5,300 of those bodies are believed to be located somewhere north of the demilitarized zone.

Some North Korean media statements have suggested that "denuclearization" would require the complete removal of American assets from Asia, as the United States is a nuclear power. "But, it seems that the USA misunderstood our goodwill and patience".

Trump did not give any sense of when he might give the CD to Kim.

While China may be genuinely committed to pushing Pyongyang to denuclearize, it'll inevitably bear the brunt of any back-and-forth from North Korea's delivery, according to Tsai Tung-Chieh, a professor of worldwide politics at National Chung Hsing University in Taichung, central Taiwan.

After the week-long news hiatus, on Tuesday KCNA released four reports of the leader's trip to Samjiyon county on the Chinese border.

But cross-border relations have warmed after South Korean President Moon Jae-in - who has championed dialogue with the isolated North since taking office a year ago - held a landmark summit with the North's leader Kim Jong Un in April.

The latter - a joint production between Britain, Belgium and the North - was earlier screened at the Toronto International Film Festival and the South's Busan International Film Festival to positive reviews.
