Microsoft goes cheap on the Surface

Just because it's small doesn't mean the Go doesn't pack a punch; the screen in use is a high-resolution 1,800×1,200-pixel touch display, which is higher resolution than many smaller tablets.

The PixelSense display's resolution is 1800 x 1200 and sits at a 3:2 aspect ratio.

The new 10in (25.4cm) device comes with the signature Surface kickstand for setting the device up at a range of angles, and runs Windows 10. Among the 13.5-inch laptop's most distinguishing features is a keyboard wrapped in Alcantara, a suede-like synthetic fabric from Italy used in some luxury vehicle interiors.

Surface Go will be available in a couple of different versions, all powered by Intel Pentium Gold 4415Y CPU. In terms of connectivity, the device supports WiFi connectivity (802.11 a/b/g/n/a) and an LTE-compatible version is in the works.

We think that the Surface Go may be one of the most interesting releases this year and can not wait to see how well it stacks up to the entry-level 9.7-inch iPad. Microsoft says that you can expect 9 hours of battery life in the Surface Go, which isn't bad but isn't the best.

An NYPD inspector said no, according to the letter, and when the agent asked the group how they arrived, they pointed to Mexico. The Mayor made headlines in June after calling for the abolishment of ICE.

The 10-inch Go is smaller, lighter and less powerful than the existing Surface Pro tablet, but follows its larger sibling's lead in nearly every other way and comes in at half the price. Microsoft only provides 64GB of storage, though you can expand your storage with the microSD card slot present on the device. It features backlit mechanical keys like the full-sized offering and a glass trackpad. The new Surface Go is priced at £379, and Microsoft is targeting the same audience as Apple did with its most recent iPad: school students.

"When we designed this device, we had to ask ourselves what people want and need from a 10" Surface.

What's new with the Surface Go?

Prices start at $399. For comparison's sake, the Surface Pro now retails for $799.

Until then the tablet is available to preorder on the Microsoft Store.
