An Ohio law known as the Community Defense Act, passed in 2007, prohibits anyone who is not a family member from touching a nude or semi-nude dancer.

Court records show Daniels posted $6,054.00 in bail and was released. There has to be higher priorities!

Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, was performing at Sirens, a strip club in Columbus, when some of the club's patrons touched her in a "non-sexual" way, Avenatti told The Associated Press.

'We will fight all bogus charges'.

The Community Defense Act was passed in OH in 2007 after the conservative religious group Citizens for Community Values lobbied heavily for rules against strip club operations. Daniels was arrested by several Columbus police officers after she also allegedly fondled the breasts of female patrons and held the face of a female officer into her chest, WBNS-TV first reported.

He said she was arrested inside the club.

Daniels' arraignment is scheduled for Friday at Ohio's Franklin County Municipal Court.

She fondled a third officer's buttocks and breasts, according to the documents.

German court authorises extradition of Carles Puigdemont
The court has not made a decision to impose any precautionary measures on Puigdemont, meaning that he remains a free man. Puigdemont fled Spain to avoid jail and has been living in the German city of Hamburg as he fights extradition.

The high-powered attorney claims the arrest was "part of a sting" based on a "puritan law" that says there is absolutely no touching in strip clubs in Columbus.

But according to an arrest report cited by Columbus news station WBNS, police accuse Daniels of touching "a specified anatomical area" of individuals present at the performance, including police officers.

A person who answered the phone at Sirens declined to comment.

"We will vehemently contest all charges", he said.

Mr Avenatti later said his client would plead not guilty to all three misdemeanour charges, and also posted a statement from Ms Daniels saying she would not be able to go ahead with tonight's show.

Cohen allegedly paid Daniels $130,000 to keep quiet about her sexual encounter with Mr. Trump.

Porn actress Stormy Daniels was arrested Thursday and charged with violating a controversial and conservative-backed OH state law called the Community Defense Act, which prevents adult dancers from touching customers, and vice versa.

However, Trump - who initially denied knowledge of the payment - subsequently conceded that Cohen was in fact reimbursed.
