Woman arrested in brick beating of 92-year-old man

Jones was allegedly involved in the assault on Rodolfo Rodriguez in the area of 118th Street and Robin Street in Willowbrook, an unincorporated area of L.A. County. The witness was able to get a picture of the woman who was walking with a little girl.

Rodriguez told KTLA-TV that the mother began beating him with a brick after pushing him to the ground.

"I didn't even bump into her kid", Rodriguez said.

"I just passed her and she pushed me and she hit me until she was done", he said. She was booked for assault with a deadly weapon and is being held in lieu of $200,000.

Borjas had been driving by, she said, and wanted to stop, but the woman threatened to hit her auto with the brick.

One witness, Misbel Borjas, told the Los Angeles Times she was passing by in a vehicle when the incident occurred.

'When I tried to videotape her with my cell phone, ' Borjas said of the woman pictured holding the brick, 'she threw that same concrete block, tried to hit my auto'. He said that at one point, the woman ran up to some men and told them Rodriguez was trying to take her daughter away from her - so the men joined her and started kicking him as he lay bleeding on a sidewalk.

A witness told CNN she saw a woman striking Rodriguez and overheard her saying, "Go back to your country".

The victim was identified by police as Rodolfo Rodriguez.

Mr Rodriguez was walking to a nearby park when the attack occurred.

A motive for the attack remains unknown, the newspaper reported.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department says that Jones beat Rodriguez with a break after he allegedly bumped into the young female child she was with. "In the years I have been alive I have never offended anyone". "I'm only going to rely on Jesus Christ's help and I believe the law will bring justice".

"They're gonna put it to a good cause, they're not gonna keep it all for themselves and they're thinking about ways to give back to the community", Galvez said.

"He is [doing] very badly, he has many bruises on his face, he has lost his sight in his right eye and he has a broken cheekbone". Another showed Rodriguez in his hospital bed with bruises on his nose, mouth and cheek and swollen eyes.

The beating left Rodriguez with injuries to his face, cheekbone, head, and ribs.

A 92-year-old grandfather was beaten with a brick while on a walk. Mendoza added. "There's no harm that he meant". Three or four men reportedly also joined the attack.
