Conservative MP Michael Fabricant has been accused of Islamophobia and racism after he tweeted a photoshopped picture of a balloon version of London mayor Sadiq Khan having sex with a balloon pig over the Houses of Parliament as Donald Trump laughs. "Because I was distracted in a meeting and saw it on a small iPhone, I didn't spot what it really was", he said.

The image, which has now been deleted, showed a laughing President Trump in front of Parliament with a blimp of two pigs having sex in the background, with one pig showing the superimposed face of Mr Khan.

"I am genuinely sorry if it caused anyone offence".

'I'm liberal and not anybody-phobic. This followed on from my remarks on TV about the hypocrisy of the anti-Trump demos and the ridiculous blimp.

Tory peer Baroness Warsi, a vocal critic of her party's perceived lack of action on the issue of Islamophobia, claimed that there will be an inquiry into the incident, but she asked: "how much damage we will do to our reputation in the meantime as we drag our feet".

In response, Labour MP Wes Streeting wrote to Conservative whips, saying "A$3 failure to act over the case of Michael Fabricant MP will only serve to underline concerns expressed by a growing number of individuals and organisations that the Conservative Party has a problem with recognising and tackling Islamophobia within it's ranks".

Novichok came from small bottle, police say
Ms Sturgess' partner, 45-year-old Charlie Rowley from Amesbury, a town a few miles from Salisbury, is now recovering in hospital. They were found to have been poisoned with Novichok, a lethal nerve agent produced in the Soviet Union during the Cold War.

'I'm sick of the Mayor's religion being used as a punchline and punchbag by racists and bigots, ' he said.

"Theresa May should take action immediately". 'MPs should know better'.

Fabricant's tweet, sent Thursday night, had the image caption: "BREAKING NEWS: TRUMP DEFEATS SADIQ KHAN IN BALLOON WARS", and the MP added the note: "Well, what can I say".

Activist and columnist Owen Jones said, 'The now deleted tweet by Mike Fabricant is gratuitously racist and the Tories have to suspend him now'.

He added: "They are just flags from some of the countries where my company had clients back in the 1980s". has contacted the Tory party for comment.
