Massive Explosion Reported Near Cairo Airport

There are very few details as yet, but there has been a massive explosion near Egypt's Cairo International Airport.

The explosion reportedly took place just before 11 p.m. local time.

Images on Twitter show a large plume of smoke rising from an area of Cairo International Airport.

A huge explosion has reportedly been heard in the vicinity of Cairo Airport this evening.

Japan-based mobile manufacturer Sony has unveiled its latest smartphone Xperia XA2 Plus in London through an official blog post. Sony has taken the wraps off what is arguably its most lovely smartphone in recent years, the XA2 Plus.

All flights were temporarily suspended while an investigation into the blast took place. However, the Ministry of Civil Aviation said in a statement the blast would not disrupt air traffic.

Various sources are claiming that the explosion was from a fuel tanker near the airport, indicating that the incident might be an accident rather than foul play. Later that year, ISIS claimed responsibility for a deadly airport bombing in Brussels. The airport itself was not affected by the blast and there were no immediate reports of casualties.
