Monster Hunter Is Getting an Animated Special

Monster Hunter World's Final Fantasy crossover event has a confirmed date and a lovely new trailer.

The collaboration was announced during Square Enix's E3 press conference and it's a cross-over seven years in the making.

Along with fighting the Behemoth, players will see Cactuars appear on the battlefield, and they can be used as environmental traps. You can take a look at what it'll look like in the video below. It's actually rather adorable.

The update won't just include the already announced behemoth, but it will also come with the insane cute Moogle α armor for your palico, the Drachen armor, Gae Bolg insect glave and Dragon Soul Kinsect. Joshua Fine, writer for the Ultimate Spider-Man series and producer for the animated feature Planet Hulk, led the writing of Monster Hunter: Legends of the Guild.

In a report, analysts for BoAML say "although cumulative sales volume is growing steadily, we get the impression the popularity of Monster Hunter is dying down six months after its release", citing sluggish sales in the last few weeks in particular. Monster Hunter: Legend of the Guild tells the story of a courageous young man determined to prove himself as a monster hunter worthy of recognition; however, his chance arrives all too soon when he discovers that his remote village lies in the path of an Elder Dragon-a veritable force of nature made flesh.
