Discussions over a £13.75 million deal are progressing well according to the report, and Stoke City's winger could land at the Anfield sooner rather than later.

Shaqiri underwent a medical with the Reds on Friday morning after they agreed to trigger the release clause in the winger's contract at Stoke City.

Shaqiri joined Stoke in 2015 from Inter Milan before going on to make 84 league appearances for the club.

The Switzerland worldwide had been on holiday after helping his country reach the last-16 of the World Cup but he broke off to complete a medical at Melwood on Friday.

The German wasted no time in starting his transfer business, bringing in Brazilian midfielder Fabinho from Monaco while Naby Keita completed his long-awaited move from RB Leipzig.

The article claims that Klopp has identified Shaqiri as a top target this summer as he wants to have him as back up for Liverpool FC's front three of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.

The archaeologist said that the temple inspired the construction of the Templo Mayor in Tenochtitlan, which is now Mexico City. The researchers were equally surprised to find out that the temple hints at the site being much older than previously thought.

The Switzerland worldwide became the club's third new arrival this summer by completing the formalities of a medical and his transfer on Friday.

"That was a big point for me to come here, because of the coach".

"As a player you always want to be on the biggest stage in football".

Shaqiri, who will wear the number 23 shirt on Merseyside, is understood to have joined the club in a deal worth around £13m.

Liverpool have been strongly linked with Shaqiri in recent months and TeamTalk reported earlier this week that Manchester United had joined their rivals in the race to sign the Switzerland global.
