For our part, we know there are a ton of reasons why Venom could be one of this year's best movies and why Tom Hardy will blow us all away with his performance.

While studio Sony Pictures has been getting its proverbial ducks in a row to unleash some exciting info about Venom at next week's San Diego Comic-Con, Entertainment Weekly has given those who aren't attending the convention a sweet treat: two new photos from the film. For those unfamiliar with the character, in the comics he came from an alien symbiote that was previously attached to Spider-Man, so when it found disgraced journalist Eddie Brock, the symbiote gave him Spider-Man's powers.

That hybrid relationship is what drew Hardy to the role, as well as the fact that Venom "looks the coolest" among Marvel characters.

One photo features a closeup of Venom's face, showing his gruesome teeth and terrifying smile in all of its glory, as Eddie Brock appears to be succumbing to the base urges of the alien symbiote. "But I appreciate that he has a kind of brazen swagger and a zero foxtrot attitude".

Hardy further explained that he saw the character as having "a tragic clown element, which I find amusing and is harmonious with some of the work that I like to do".

Asians Face Widest Income Inequality Among U.S. Ethnic Groups
While income for rich Asian Americans skyrocketed over the last four decades, incomes for poor Asian Americans barely budged. Asian immigration surged after the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act, which favored family reunification.

That disturbing visage also plays into how the director of the film, Ruben Fleischer, sees the movie as partially a "body horror" film, as well. However, Dr. Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed) wants the symbiote for himself and will do anything in his power to get it back.

"It's a bit like Ren and Stimpy, you know? He's a reluctant hero and an anti-hero". He says, "We talked a lot about a werewolf and what it is when you get infected or bit by a werewolf", which makes sense since we're seeing the transformation take place, just like a werewolf or Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde-type of situation.

A new image of Tom Hardy's Venom was unveiled today and fans have taken to social media to share their reactions to the latest photo from the Sony film.

Well said, Hardy. Well said. I always saw Venom as sounding like a James Brown lounge lizard, and Eddie Brock is kind of. "But he's inherited this massive ego, this beast".
