Papa John's founder throws shade at NFL, Roger Goodell

As a result, the National Football League forced Papa John's to remove the shield logo from all commercials and advertisements, and earlier this year the sides ended their sponsorship agreement. He also resigned from his position on the board of directors for the University of Louisville, which said it would drop the company from its football stadium immediately. Schnatter explained, "we're not gonna go there, we're not gonna talk about this.' And they pushed me, and it upset me, and I just said, 'Listen, other people have used that word". Period. Papa John's is not an individual. We will then set clear goals to do better. Papa John's is a pizza company with 120,000 corporate and franchise team members around the world. These are the people in your communities from all walks of life who work hard to provide you with better service and better pizza. This will allow us to identify our strengths and weaknesses.

Earlier this afternoon UofL president Neeli Bendapudi said she hadn't reviewed changing the name of the stadium, but I'd say that will soon happen. And I don't want to do business with Roger Goodell, and we've had enough success where we get to pick who we do business with.

The entire team at Papa John's wants to thank you for your loyalty. We don't use that kind of language or vocabulary and sure it got taken out of context and sure it got twisted, but that doesn't matter. And it's our honest wish that we'll continue to have the honor of serving you.
