Target has a new way to help educators stretch those dollars.

For one week beginning Sunday, the retailer will sell certain supplies at a 15 percent discount to teachers nationwide. However, the website will not go live until July 15.

Some teachers expressed concern that the deal is a scam, but Target confirmed the sale is real.

From pens, pencils, crayons and markers to classroom storage, organization, tissues and hand sanitizer, teachers will receive 15 percent off in stores and online. The company says other items will also be included, but has not released a list yet of included items.

Teachers will be able to utilize the discount both in stores and on Target.com from Sunday, July 15 to Saturday, July 21.

There's no doubt that teachers spend a large chunk of change while school supply shopping. The average amount teachers said they spent without reimbursement was $479.
