After Capcom announced a release date for the upcoming Monster Hunter World portion of the collaborative event, Square Enix has finally done the same for the Rathalos' visit to Final Fantasy XIV.

As detailed in a liveletter this week from the game's crew, Rathalos will actually be an elaborate event in that there's a normal mode and an extreme (harder) difficulty setting. Now, we know just when this new content will drop. While the Normal version will see eight Warriors of Light team up to try and emerge victorious, the Extreme version will challenge four players to defeat the monster, while featuring certain additional mechanics in homage to Monster Hunter: "World". Those who have completed Stormblood's main scenario quest and are at least level 70 can take on the legendary beast. This collaboration of Monster Hunter World will be part of the patch 4.36 of the MMORPG, which will arrive with The Pagos Expedition.
