In brief: The on-demand video streaming market's growth has attracted entertainment giants of all stripes, and DC Comics is one of them.

Numerous original programs based on DC Comics characters are now in development for the service.

Though the likes of Netflix and Hulu initially dominated the market, Amazon has expanded their Prime Video offerings substantially, and many TV networks now have their own on-demand streaming services.

But it wouldn't be a DC service without comics. For decades, those have been the key themes that have united the Teen Titans, DC's signature team of heroes who represent the next generation of crimefighting in that particular universe.

The trailer links the timeline of " Discovery ", which is set roughly a decade before James Kirk takes the bridge of the U.S.S. Led by Sonequa Martin-Green's Michael Burnham , the trailer shows the unified cast voyaging where no one has gone before.

If you still need more DC in your life, DC Universe will also have exclusive merchandise up for sale and a forum community where you can talk with other DC fans, create encyclopedia entries, manage lists of your favorite shows, and more.

Monthly memberships will be available for $7.99 a month. Beginning today, you can pre-order an annual subscription and those who sign up will both automatically enter you into a contest to win tickets to this year's Aquaman premiere, and give you three free additional months of access to the platform.

Perhaps the first big TV trailer to drop from this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego is the trailer for the DC Universe original series Titans based on the comics of the same name.
