Multiplayer has by far been the most-requested feature that fans have had with Stardew Valley, so it's nice to finally see it launch. After a period of beta testing, it's almost ready to roll out on PC, Mac, and Linux. While you can always party chat while playing Stardew Valley, this allows everyone to interact with each other without any additional steps like setting up a Discord or Skype call.

Concerned Ape has confirmed that Stardew Valley's multiplayer update will be "coming soon" to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch following its release for PC, Mac and Linux this August.

And Froome seems eager for the action to return. "Tomorrow we can see some good battles between the favourites, " Froome said. Thomas continues to lead the overall classification, standing at 1:38 ahead of Froome and 1:50 ahead of Dumoulin.

The development of a multiplayer mode for the game hasn't been easy, as it was originally created to be a single-player game, which explains why it has been so long since the original announcement. So, basically everything you can do in Stardew Valley, then. Console owners will have to wait a while longer, with the developer simply saying that the update is "coming soon". It's now unknown if the console versions will have a similar feature.

When that will happen is anyone's guess, but we do know that the Nintendo Switch will be the first console to get multiplayer.
