"Pilots are not nomads who put up tents wherever Ryanair wants to operate", union negotiator Ingolf Schumacher said.

Ryanair said at the weekend that it was also cancelling 104 flights in and out of Belgium on Friday due to similar stoppages by Ryanair pilots in Belgium and Sweden.

Pilots' union Fórsa said it "looks forward to talking to Kieran Mulvey about when a process could begin", but Friday's strike action looks set to proceed.

Passengers whose flights have been cancelled should already have been informed via text or email, but all those travelling to or from the affected countries with Ryanair on Friday are advised to check with the airline.
