He didn't wilt. Didn't even wither.

Spieth just didn't win, putting together four consistent-if-unspectacular rounds that left him tied for 28th, well behind good buddy Justin Thomas.

For his part, Woods admits he will have plenty of homework to do as he looks to claim a 15th major title in the US PGA Championship.

Bellerive Country Club, a 7,317-yard par-70 course, is hosting its third major and second PGA Championship. "It's going to be a big atmosphere out there and I'm looking forward to that".

That noise? It's softened considerably during the previous year, and the spotlight that accompanied him to Quail Hallow shines a little less brightly on Spieth in St. Louis.

Three-time major victor Jordan Spieth will make his second try at completing a Career Grand Slam after sharing 28th previous year at Quail Hollow. But he fired his lowest final round in five years to take fourth in June at the PGA National and led in the British Open final round before sharing sixth at Carnoustie.

Tiger Woods is ranked 51st in the world, but is playing better than some may have imagined.

Nicklaus needed just three tries after winning the PGA in '63 to win his first British Open, and Player likewise needed three tries after the '65 U.S. Open to win his first British.

Asked if he was "guarding" against re-injuring himself by doing too much, Woods said, "It's just there's going to be certain days that I'm just not going to have the speed and the flexibility and the movement that I once did".

"A lot of careers are defined on major championships".

Puerto Rico Concedes That Hurricane Maria Killed Over 1,400 People, Not 64
A New York Times investigation said it was likely at least 1 ,000 Puerto Ricans were killed by the storm in the US territory. Only the San Ciriaco hurricane of August 1899 was deadlier, with an official estimate of 3,369 killed.

Meanwhile, Fowler is probably the best current golfer who has yet to earn a Major title, and Woods is a four-time victor of the PGA Championship and the last to repeat when he finished first in 2006 and 2007.

"I'm trying to work a few kinks out of my swing".

"If he could go ahead and win another major with his fifth golf swing, I mean, that's unbelievable". "So, yeah, I mean I can probably relate a little bit".

His beloved grandfather, Bob Julius, and most of his mother's side of the family was raised in the St. Louis area.

"You can play this game competitively until you're close to 50".

It would be even more fun to make history in front of them.

"You certainly get thrown at the deep end straight away in a group like that", McIlroy said.

"I don't think they're going to be the smoothest of greens we've played on, but everyone has got to play them", he said.

"If I don't get injured again, stay healthy and hitting it the way I'm hitting it right now, I would think I could play a few more competitively", Love added.
