The film is set to open on August 2, 2019. "I grew up watching the show, and for me, especially as a Latina, Dora was an unbelievable role model - she is a strong, adventurous and fun-loving girl", Moner said in May upon her casting, per The Hollywood Reporter.

And now, even with Moner rocking tousled hair and a slightly more realistic outfit, I can't help but think that this Dora the Explorer movie will somehow turn out exactly like the parody that preceded it.

This is the first official live-action adaptation of the Nickelodeon cartoon... unless you count CollegeHumor's take.

If someone is good, age shouldn't be criteria: Tendulkar
England are calling on their youngsters in the team and Sachin feels this is how it should be. He urged Curran and Pope to enjoy the challenge that makes global cricket so fascinating.

Interestingly enough, Michael Bay's name is not mentioned in Paramount Pictures' latest press release for the film. It reads: "Having spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents nothing could prepare Dora for the most risky adventure ever-High School".

Isabela stars as Dora in the movie. In the story, she'll be entering high school, but also wrangling together her best monkey friend Boots, cousin Diego (played by Micke Moreno), and a group of teens on a journey to save her parents and solve the mystery behind a lost Inca civilization. The director is James Bobin, who previously worked on The Muppets movie, as well as Alice Through the Looking Glass.

Eugenio Derbez, 56, joins Isabela as Alejandro, a mysterious jungle inhabitant who tries to protect the teenagers from the marauders. Temuera Morrison (Green Lantern) also stars as Powell. Additional key casting announcements are forthcoming. In addition to designer Hennah's stage builds, the production will utilize Queensland's diverse landscape, notably tropical forests near Tamborine Mountain and Tallebudgera, to portray Dora's jungle habitat. Village Roadshow Studios, where the production will headquarter, has been host to such recent shoots as Thor: Ragnarok and Aquaman.
