Man Utd open Chelsea talks for Zouma

Real Madrid has agreed to terms with Chelsea to sign goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois on a six-year deal, with Mateo Kovacic set to go the other way on loan.

L'Equipe are an extremely reliable source, and the fact that they are reporting this indicates the deal is close to completion.

The French global spent last season out on loan at Stoke City but couldn't prevent them from being relegated from the Premier League and he's now facing an uncertain future back at Chelsea under Maurizio Sarri.

For that to happen, however, Zouma must make himself part of Silva's new-look defence and then help the Toffees become a formidable defensive unit. He was linked to Manchester United and West Ham United this summer.

"Capped twice by France, he lifted the League Cup under Jose Mourinho in 2015".

A group of protesters tried to break into the government building in Bucharest, but were held back by the police security cordon. Other protesters were seen throwing paving slabs at the police, who responded with tear gas, pepper spray and water cannon.

Mourinho was the Chelsea manager when Zouma arrived in 2014, and he seemingly has a lot of belief in the Frenchman, although it's hard to see how he will boost his options in the short-term.

Everton needed to bring in more central defenders following the departures of Ashley Williams and Ramiro Funes Mori, and they have acted to bring in two incredibly promising young defenders in Zouma and Mina.

Chelsea's stance over the interest from Manchester United gives Everton a major boost to land him on a loan deal, with the Toffees going into overdrive on deadline day.

Everton were among the busier teams in the window, with Andre Gomes and Bernard also signing on during deadline day, while Lucas Digne and Richarlison moved to Merseyside earlier in the window.
