The 71-year-old photographer says he was on assignment for the local newspaper covering a band at Lola's in Oak Bluffs when Murray grabbed him from behind and slammed him into a door.

According to a police report picked up by The Boston Globe, on Wednesday photojournalist Peter Simon was taking pictures of the restaurant band for his weekly feature in The Martha's Vineyard Times.

Simon told officers that he was not injured but didn't think what Murray did was right and wanted an apology. And Murray responded with a "Do you know who I am?"

Carly Simon's brother Peter has accused actor Bill Murray of assaulting him. Simon said he did not immediately recognize the "Groundhog Day" star but eventually realized it was Murray after the actor walked away.

The restaurant owner, Katherine Domitrovich, told officers that Simon approached her and claimed he was on assignment for MV Times taking pictures when Murray grabbed him and poured a drink on him. "He treated me like the scum of the earth".

The report says Murray was "visibly upset" and said Simon was harassing him.

Simon said he didn't know it was Murray at first, though he later recognized him as he continued to take photos around the restaurant. However, the Globe adds that the restaurant's owner called Simon "generally annoying" and said he wasn't allowed to photograph people inside of Lola's.
