APK now available: Wait for Fortnite ends on Android unofficially

After months of wait, Fortnite has finally graced the Android platform.

For iOS, head to the App store, and the eShop for Nintendo Switch. It's also important to remember that Fortnite is not available on the Google Play Store in any way. It applies to in-app purchases as well, which is the primary means of ringing the cash registers for games such as Fortnite Mobile.

It's been less than a week since Samsung announced that Fortnite for Android would be exclusive to its Galaxy devices, but that limited exclusivity is already over.

In a nutshell, the issue is that Epic Games distributes Fortnite for Android outside the Play Store, which is a bit unusual; virtually all popular Android apps are on the Play Store, and this does keep users (somewhat) more safe.

Tottenham lucky in Newcastle win, says Vertonghen
Tottenham needed just eight minutes to go in front after goalkeeper Martin Dubravka turned away a shot from Eriksen. Jan Vertonghen opened the scoring - just about - when his header made it over the line in the early exchanges.

Fortnite is now the most played video game on the market, attracting millions of players worldwide.

"Google is apparently not too happy with Epic Games" decision. Samsung owners can run it on the Galaxy S7, S8, S9, Note 8, Note 9, Tab S3, and Tab S4 devices. It might not always be beneficial, though. This is presumably due to the fact that Fortnite targets Android 5.0 and can instantly get all permissions upon install.

While the pros and cons of Android's open system can be debated till no end, there is definitely a need to educate users to sideload APKs only from trusted sources. In an attempt to prevent Android phones from becoming portals to hell, a minute after an Android user starts installing the Fortnite APK, he/she will receive a notification reminding them that once installation of the game is complete, they need to rescind the approval allowing apps to be installed from unknown sources. Once the game is installed, you will have to wait for an official invite from Epic Games to begin playing the game - therefore, you still can't play Fortnite yet.
