Arsenal manager, Unai Emery, has identified three players who could leave the club at the end of the season, as he prepares for his opening Premier League fixture. "Of course they deserved to play, of course", Guardiola stressed.

Emery has faced Guardiola on 10 occasions in the past and has failed to win one game, losing six and drawing the other four.

It remains to be seen how much football Cech, now second in the pecking order, plays this season as Arsene Wenger in recent years used to utilised his second-string stopper in the cup competitions but it's not known whether Emery will do the same.

Arsenal will be without Sead Kolasinac.

"Emery has had longer with his team than anyone else - they've largely all been together for the whole of pre-season - and they could potentially cause an upset against City on day one". Torreira is the likeliest candidate to do so against Manchester City.

Aaron Ramsey looks like a definite starter as part of the midfield two, and the Arsenal boss will make a late decision on his partner.

At centre-back alone, Guardiola is blessed with four world-class options in the shape of Vincent Kompany, John Stones, Nicolas Otamendi and Aymeric Laporte. Kyle Walker will overlap more for City than for England, where he was shifted inside into a back three.

Emery has commented recently that he wants his team to play like City, and he will demand intensity and pressing that was often lacking from his predecessor's teams.

They're close to securing a place in the Europa League this season if they can get past Istanbul Basaksehir on Thursday.

"I am focused on that, not focused on back-to-back (titles)".

Guardiola, whose side begin their defence at Arsenal today, insisted: "People say now we have to forget what we did last season".

"Arsenal turned to former Sevilla and Paris Saint-Germain coach Emery to replace Wenger and the Spaniard welcomes Guardiola's Manchester City to Emirates Stadium on Sunday for his side's first match of the new campaign". That said though this is still a tricky opener for the Champions.

Instead, he has told his players to use their form of previous year - in which they also set records for most points, wins and goals in the Premier League era - to launch another championship charge.

I will be using half my stake backing Over 3.5 goals before the game starts at around [2.5] and also placing the other half on Over 2.5 goals with a keep bet should it reach [2.0] in running.
