Fox's Laura Ingraham Faces Backlash After Going on Racist Tirade

Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham is facing a backlash after she went on a racist tirade against immigration on Wednesday night. She's relying on the false belief that people are on her side, Cuomo notes, because "84 percent of those surveyed in June called legal immigration a good thing, and you know what, that number should be higher".

Ingraham was highly criticized for commentary where she said that the United States many loved didn't exist anymore because of immigration, both legal and illegal. She decried the changes in the country because of "demographic" changes - something many took to mean racial changes, though she specifically denied that later in the commentary. "And you know who agrees with me?" The couple, originally from Slovenia, were long-time green card holders in the U.S. "We need secure borders of course, of course", he said.

"I see zero difference between what Laura Ingraham is saying on mainstream cable and what the Nazi was saying in front of his house", Jones said.

A day after the controversial segment, Ingraham returned to the air in an effort to clarify her position, saying that she doesn't support white supremacy and doesn't except the kudos of people like David Duke, calling his views "antithetical" to hers.

"Furthermore as I have said repeatedly on this show, merit-based immigration does wonders for our country's economy, our way of life, and how we define our country", she added. "She will only become greater by becoming more of what she already is". The tweet, as reported by The Hill, was later deleted.
