Lukas Nmecha has joined Sky Bet Championship side Preston on a season-long loan from Manchester City.

The 19-year-old striker is one of English football's most promising players in his position and the likes of Leeds, Aston Villa, West Brom, Swansea and Blackburn have all made moves to sign him for the season.

Nmecha has followed his Manchester City teammate Brandon Barker to Deepdale.

The 19-year-old, who scored against Bayern Munich on City's pre-season U.S. tour, will head to Deepdale to broaden his experience with a campaign in the Championship.

Speaking after completing the move Lukas said: "Alex Neil has been a big part of my decision to sign".

"This season we can go a long way. I am here to develop and give the club the best I can". He has played twice for Manchester City's first-team already in his career and is highly thought of by Pep Guardiola. He has spent the last six months training with their first team and we have managed to persuade him that the next stage of his development is to come and play for Preston North End.

Nmecha has won 27 caps at various England youth levels, scoring seven goals, including the victor in the semi-final and final of England Under-19s' UEFA European Championship triumph in Georgia.
