Kurt Busch returns to Victory Lane at Bristol

The veteran, who entered the race fourth in points standings and needing a victory to pad his entry into the NASCAR Playoffs, stayed in front of Kyle Larson over the track's final 13 laps to claim Bristol's race. Three weeks ago, he was all over Busch at Pocono, pointing to not only his 26 career starts at the track, but also his motivation to win after a late bump from Harvick the week before.

Busch walked down the red carpet to the song "All I Do Is Win" by D.J. Khaled and the crowd roared with disapproval.

Busch, looking to win a Cup event at Bristol for the eighth time, started a 15-car wreck on the second lap.

"It's awesome to do it at Bristol".

"I think they're fine", Busch said.

Sometimes playing too nice won't get you a victory. "This is one of the sweetest wins ever".

And Martin Truex Jr.'s "nice-guy strategy" resulted in getting knocked out of contention in Saturday night's race at Bristol Motor Speedway while battling for second with Kyle Busch. Sure enough, Busch rallied from the 28th position for the checkered flag.

"Let's build more Bristols", Larson said.

Watkins Glen race victor Chase Elliott will round out the top three finishers on Saturday.

Larson, coming in as one of the favorites to watch at Bristol, finished stage one sitting sixth on the leaderboard and sat third in stage two. Kevin Harvick rounded out the top 10.

Understanding the nature of short track racing and the frustrations that come along with it, Truex chalks up his 30th-place finish at Bristol to just that - tough racing. "They got wrecked out of a race". In theory, allowing the second-place vehicle to line up right beside the leader and then alternating the cars in odd positions on the inside and the drivers in even positions on the outside is pretty fair.

Congress, BJP spar over economy
Accusing Congress of jumping the gun and nitpicking, BJP said the data has not been accepted by the government as yet. The report compares growth rates between the old series (2004-05) and the new series based on 2011-12 prices.

Kyle Busch was back on the lead lap at the end of stage 2, moved into the top 10 on lap 339 and reached the top five on lap 397.

His most controversial moment came while battling Truex for second.

Martin Truex Jr. doesn't even know the chances he will return to Furniture Row Racing next season. The reigning and defending Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series champion wants a continuation of the.

"Half [Busch's] fault, half my fault for following the 14 [of Bowyer] so long", Truex said.

Truex was upset after the race, kicking the side of his Toyota when he got out of the auto.

"I got hit in the left rear, pretty simple. He chose the outside and we got a flawless start on the inside", said Busch.

"Probably the most frustrating Bristol race I've had just because I never really felt like I had a shot to win", Larson said.

That something was Kyle Busch.

"I wish he could have been in the field", Larson said after the race. The margin was.003 of a second, literally a win of inches. I feel like we can win both stages and win the race.

A loose wheel after his first pit stop mired Larson in traffic and out of sequence, and then contact on a restart hampered into using an older set of tires for the last run of the race. Blaney led three times for 121 laps, followed by Bowyer with 120 laps led, Elliott with 112 and Logano with 95. He finished 35th after completing 59 laps in his No. 96 Toyota.

Here's an idea: The XFINITY Series has proven a worthy testing ground for other rules changes, why not put the choose cone role into effect for 2019 short track races on that circuit and see what happens? Alex Bowman now occupies the last spot in the playoffs and has a 79-point lead on his closest pursuer, Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
