Victim's finger bitten off in golf course brawl

According to WCVB5 in Plymouth, Massachusetts, two golfers got into it at Southers Marsh Golf Club earlier this weekend.

A golf match turned violent in MA on Friday when a golfer bit off another man's finger during a round at a local course. When they arrived, they found one man suffering a "bite injury to the hand".

The attacker was arrested and charged with mayhem. When firefighters arrived at the scene, they discovered the victim had his finger bitten off to his knuckle.

The alleged biter was taken to jail while the victim was transported to a local hospital.

A police dispatcher declined to comment Saturday and Chief Michael Botieri didn't immediately return a call seeking more information. "Apparently there are two foursomes that got into an altercation and there's been a finger that's been bitten off. ..." His condition as of Sunday was not released.

It was not clear if alcohol may have played a role in the altercation.

Under Massachusetts law, mayhem is defined as malicious intent to maim or disfigure another person.
