Former JLS Star Oritse Williams Charged With Rape

An ex-member of the British boyband JLS has been charged with rape over an alleged attack on a fan.

He was arrested on December 2, 2016, and subsequently bailed twice.

West Midlands Police said Williams, from Croydon in London, has now been charged with rape.

Another man, 31-year-old Jamien Nagadhana, 31, of Hounslow, London, has also been charged in relation to the incident.

Williams and Nagadhana are both set to appear before a Magistrates court on 11 October 2018.

Following his initial arrest, his management issued a statement in which he denied any wrongdoing. At the time, his people told The Mirror: "Ortise denies the allegations against him. The matter is in the hands of the police and it would be totally wrong for us to comment further".

He is yet to comment on the charge.

The alleged victim, 20, has accused the pair of attacking her at the four-star Ramada Park Hotel after Mr Williams played a gig at a club called Gorgeous in the town. Oritse has since launched his own music firm and began a solo career under the title OWS.
