Jon Hamm eyes Batman role

We've heard all sorts of rumors and reports linking Hamm with the role, but what does the man himself think of the idea?

That being said, Hamm would be willing to take on the role in the right context, even if it would involve a bit of extra effort. The actor says that he has been a comic book fan since he was a child and admits that he would be interested in playing the Caped Crusader.

Still, while he's never been offered a comic book role, the actor isn't against the possibility. I'm pretty knowledgeable about a lot of them and I like the genre and I like it when they're done well.

'And I like the genre, and I like when they're done well'.

It was recently revealed that Henry Cavill was exiting the role of Superman, but Warner Bros. and the actor's representatives both released statements in response.

Talking on web series In Depth With Graham Bensinger (as found by The Hollywood Reporter), Hamm covers the fact that he's been one of the tipped choices online since his Mad Men days. He does clarify, however, that he's just riffing, as he's never "had a conversation with anyone about it, literally".

Iron-jawed and broad shouldered all-American male Jon Hamm is not opposed to donning the cape and cowl of DC's greatest detective, Batman. Mostly, it'd involve hitting the gym for some serious work out sessions.

The Tag star then stated that he'd "probably fit the suit" - he and Affleck share a similar physical build and are roughly the same height, with Affleck standing only two inches taller than Hamm - but admitted that he would "have to work out a lot", which he isn't exactly thrilled about.
