Terry made more than 700 appearances for Chelsea, winning five Premier League titles, five FA Cups and the 2012 Champions League.

Maurizio Sarri is open to the prospect of John Terry joining his coaching staff at Chelsea but fears the club's former captain is intent upon playing for another season before he turns his attention to life in the dug-out.

Terry said his goodbyes to Chelsea last summer, calling time on a phenomenal career at Stamford Bridge, during which he established himself among the greatest players ever to pull on the shirt.

Terry is a free agent and has been training occasionally at Chelsea's training ground after spending a season in the Championship with Aston Villa, which remains a possible destination.

'I don't know, the last time I spoke to him he told me that he wants to play for another season but I don't know the situation I'm talking one week ago, Chelsea is his home of course, ' Sarri said at his pre-match press conference.

Terry possesses a wealth of experience which would be a useful asset for clubs both home and overseas. Sarri appears willing to ease that transition - and bring him back where he belongs, at Chelsea.

Former JLS Star Oritse Williams Charged With Rape
Another man, 31-year-old Jamien Nagadhana, 31, of Hounslow, London, has also been charged in relation to the incident. An ex-member of the British boyband JLS has been charged with rape over an alleged attack on a fan.

"He would be a point of reference for me". But I hope, in the future, I think I will be able to give him space, to give a space to [Hudson-] Odoi, to [Ruben] Loftus-Cheek. His presence alone [would be].

"Here is John Terry's home".

"It's up to him".

Terry is unlikely to be returning to Stamford Bridge, for now, but he is working with the academy players at Chelsea's Cobham training ground as he seeks his coaching qualifications, with a long-term target in mind.

"They are an ambitious club and I have been very impressed with their professionalism". He has won everything with the club'. This is where he belongs.
