We more than likely have Spider-Man to thank, as it's revealed Venom will have a PG-13 rating, and not an R-rating like a lot of fans were hoping for.

A while back we learned that Sony was aiming for a PG-13 rating on Ruben Fleischer's Venom, a movie about a psychotic alien parasite that bites the heads off risky criminals after taking over the body of Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy), a man with an unfortunate speaking voice.

Well, anyway, it's now official: our friends over at Collider have confirmed that Venom will be rated PG-13.

"I honestly don't know what I'm allowed to say", Fleischer told the LA Times.

Classic Final Fantasy PlayStation Games Are Coming To Switch
World of Final Fantasy Maxima will lead the charge with its release on the Xbox One on November 6th. In the meantime, it's also unclear why Final Fantasy 8 wasn't included in the lineup.

The previous report made mention that Sony doesn't want Venom to be too dark and gory as it "could preclude other film match-ups, not just with Peter Parker's alter-ego, but also with other members of the extended" MCU.

In the past, Marvel has released plenty of tie-in comics for its films and TV shows from within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will continue this trend with the upcoming Captain Marvel.

Swinging into theaters on October 5, Venom is directed by Ruben Fleischer and stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom, Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, and Riz Ahmed as Carlton Drake/Riot.
