Ronaldo has so far experienced a slow start to life at Juventus, failing to score a competitive goal in his first three matches.

But he has the backing of new team-mate Matuidi, who's predicting he can have an impact as the campaign goes on. "Personally, it's been the year I affirmed myself", Del Piero told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

Cristiano Ronaldo can win the Champions League this season, according to his former teammate Wayne Rooney.

The Uruguay worldwide has admitted he did not see the deal coming but at the same time believes Los Blancos should be respected just as they always were. "I wouldn't want to finish my career with the number 20 shirt, I say everything with that", "If I wanted to change it?"

The highlight of his time at Madrid has to be the four UEFA Champions League trophies that he won alongside winning the Ballon d'Or as many times.

"It will help us in the crucial moments of the season".

Water kills more people in hurricanes than wind, and he said it will still be an extremely risky storm for rain and storm surge . A National Weather Service forecaster said: "This will likely be the storm of a lifetime for portions of the Carolina coast".

Matuidi says he's been in touch with France colleague Paul Pogba ahead of the encounter.

He explained: "That doesn't necessarily mean the favourites will win the trophy, but obviously we feel that we are up there and have to prove it on the pitch".

"Our group is hard, not just because of Manchester United, but also Valencia".

"The Champions League is a long journey and that year, we made it, destroying every obstacle on the way".

As Ronaldo departed, a new starlet arrived on the scene in the form of Vinicius who completed his move to Madrid this summer in a £38million arrival from Flamengo. We're not competing against one player.

Ronaldo will get another chance to open his account for Juve on Sunday when the Bianconeri play host to Sassuolo.
