The accused was arrested under section 376 (Punishment for rape), 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of IPC.

The son of a Delhi Police sub-inspector who was seen thrashing a woman on a video that went viral was arrested Friday, Delhi Police said. She alleged that she was threatened with the same kind of treatment if she didn't follow his instructions. His ex-girlfriend had reportedly approached the police for Tomar's past violent behaviour but the Delhi Police had allegedly refused to act.

The accused was employed with a call centre till last month and is now unemployed.

The person recording the video is also heard asking Rohit to let the woman go but to no avail. According to media reports, police in West Delhi have registered an FIR against Rohit Singh Tomar after a woman filed a complaint on watching the video.
