Mere weeks before Huawei is set to officially unveil its Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro smartphones, which is taking place at a much-anticipated October 16 event, a stunning show-all video has revealed just how much of a threat the series could be to Apple's new iPhone XS and Google's Pixel 3 flagships. New information points to Huawei also releasing some new wireless earbuds in conjunction with the Mate 20. The new Huawei Freebuds 2 Pro will be wireless earbuds specifically created to work well with the AI embedded in the Kirin 980 processor powering the Mate 20. Huawei did not stop there though, adding some unique twists to the earbuds - well, the case to be more specific. It's not just enough that the Freebuds 2 Pro will charge wirelessly within their own dock - the existing model already does that, much like Apple's Airpods charge in their little case. The charging case will reportedly have a Type-C port for wired charging, but they also support Qi wireless charging.

According to sources, the Mate 20 Pro will also sport a headphone jack.

The earbuds have around three hours of life per charge with another 20 hours in the case. In addition to similarities in the design, the leaked renders and images hinted at a new functionality that Huawei may add to the Freebuds 2 Pro.

Freebuds 2 Pro will use a built-in bone sensor to capture the wearer's voice by bone conduction, to avoid confusion with other nearby voices. The leaked images (reposted below) show that the Huawei Freebuds 2 Pro are undeniably clones of Apple's famous truly wireless headphones.
