Max Domi wasn't the only player on the Montreal Canadiens to standout interestingly in a preseason debut.

The NHL on Thursday suspended Montreal Canadiens forward Max Domi for the remainder of the preseason for his sucker punch on Florida's Aaron Ekblad on Wednesday night.

No matter what Ekblad did to anger Domi, no matter how legitimate that anger was, it doesn't excuse or pardon what he did next.

Montreal does have plans to run Domi out there at centre ice, a position he hasn't played since he was a squirt. But "getting used to a position you probably shouldn't be playing anyway" isn't an adequate punishment for trying to cave an unwilling opponent's face in. And for what? We can't know, because Domi wasn't made available to answer for it after the game.

Calls to ban iconic '70s-style baby walkers after numerous injuries
He recommends parents not buy a baby walker for their child, and if they have one they should remove the wheels and dispose of it. Along with improved regulation, the researchers also suggest a few other factors may have played a role in this downward trend.

Unfortunate to say the least.

Following the game, Panthers head coach Bob Boughner told reporters that Ekblad was removed from the game by the league to determine if he'd suffered a concussion.

Domi then dropped his right glove and sucker punched him right on the nose, and the bloodied Ekblad dropped to the ice. The former was given a five-minute major and a match penalty for the punch while the latter had to be taken off after the concussion spotters gave the Panthers bench a call for him to undergo concussion testing.
