In her first interview as a royal, Meghan Markle is revealing some secrets about her stunning Givenchy wedding dress.

In a clip from the upcoming HBO documentary Queen of the World, Meghan reveals she had a secret tribute to her first date with her now-husband hidden within her attractive 16-foot wedding veil.

Queen Of The World is screened on ITV at 9.15pm on Tuesday September 25.

"My goodness, it's fantastic, isn't it?" she says. Meghan raves, as curators of the Royal Collection Trust get ready to put the gown on display for a new royal exhibition.

In a clip from the upcoming documentary Queen of the World, Meghan could be seen looking at her veil as she said: "Somewhere in here there's a piece of blue fabric that's stitched inside - it was my something blue".

"It's fabric from the dress that I wore on our first date".

The former Suits actress - who was known as Meghan Markle before she Wednesday the prince in May - had a square of fabric stitched into the stunning 16ft accessory as her "something blue" for good luck on her big day. It was my something blue.

Another aspect of the veil, which was previously announced by Kensington Palace, was an ode to the 53 countries of the Commonwealth.

The Duchess of Sussex used fabric from the dress she wore on her first date with Prince Harry in her wedding veil.

Meghan reveals the evolution of her veil describing how she wanted it to feature flowers from the 53 Commonwealth nations, but Waight Keller came up with the idea of wild blooms. "There are so many different, handsome features there. It's such an exciting time for us, especially with Harry's role as Youth Ambassador for the Commonwealth and the travel that we intend to do to work specifically in all those different territories".

"I stuck in a couple of flowers that were important to me as well, personally", the Los Angeles native adds. "But there is a California poppy in there, which has nothing to do with the Commonwealth, but it is where I'm from".

"I knew that it would be a fun surprise as well for my now husband, who didn't know".
